Student Out-of-Area Coverage
Out of Town or Out of the Country Coverage
Studying out of town? You’re not out of coverage. As long as your plan has a rider that extends coverage to your college-age dependents, CDPHP will cover them for emergencies and prior-authorized urgent and routine care.
Student Out-of-Area Coverage* works the same for your college student as it would if you were traveling out-of-area on vacation. For details regarding prior authorization, prescription drugs, and expense reimbursement, download the CDPHP Travel Out-of-Area brochure.
Student Verification
CDPHP sends a letter to dependents covered by student riders, seeking verification that they are still attending school. A timely and accurate response to these inquiries ensures there are no lapses in the student's coverage. Download the student verification form.
At age 18, students have the option to sign an Authorization to Release Health Information to give parents or legal guardians access to protected health information in case they need to contact CDPHP on their behalf.
