Laurie joined CDPHP in 2010 and currently serves as senior vice president of pharmaceutical care programs. In this role, she leads a team of pharmacy professionals who strive to provide CDPHP members ready access to the most cost-effective medications possible.
In addition to formulary strategies and evidence-based policies, the team focuses on the drug development pipeline and engagement with area physician experts to further the CDPHP mission and its goals. A heightened emphasis is placed on proactive literature evaluation, data analysis, and discussions regarding therapeutic strategies accompanying the availability of innovative treatments, such as gene therapy, orphan drugs, and personalized medicine. Internally, the team devotes attention to quality program initiatives, such as HEDIS and Medicare Stars, and strategies such as specialty pharmacy care management and pharmacist support of medication reconciliation, as well as transitions of care.
Prior to joining CDPHP, Laurie held clinical and administrative positions at several not-for-profit hospital organizations. Laurie earned a Bachelor of Science degree in pharmacy and a doctor of pharmacy from the University of Rhode Island. She is also a board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist. Laurie is a member of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. She is also an adjunct faculty member at several colleges of pharmacy, including the Albany College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences.
