ALBANY, N.Y. – April 26, 2019 – Two of the Capital Region’s leading non-profits are teaming up to provide Schenectady residents access to affordable health care. CDPHP and YWCA NorthEastern NY are proud to announce the opening of CDPHP Community Connect, a health and wellness resource located inside YWCA’s Schenectady location.

At CDPHP Community Connect, residents will receive access to free health screenings and flu shots, one-on-one support with health care needs, help enrolling in free and low-cost health insurance, assistance scheduling doctor and dentist appointments, and much more.

“At CDPHP, we take seriously our responsibility to improve the health and quality of life in the communities we serve,” said CDPHP President and CEO, Dr. John D. Bennett. “That is why we are incredibly proud to offer these services at no cost to the residents of Schenectady. We are also grateful that our partners at YWCA have chosen to partner with CDPHP on this important initiative,” added Bennett.

“For more than 130 years, YWCA of NorthEastern NY has been a voice and advocate for some of the most vulnerable members of our community. Our partnership with CDPHP furthers cements our commitment to this community, providing vital health care services to women, families, and children in Schenectady and beyond,” said YWCA Northeastern NY executive director, Kim Siciliano.

“I am thrilled to see CDPHP and YMCA stepping up to the plate to address one of the greatest challenges of our time. That is, providing the community with access to high-quality, affordable health care. Your partnership is a prime example of the success we can achieve when we work together for the good of our neighbors,” said NYS Senator Jim Tedisco.

“Affordable health care is critical to the success of a healthy and vibrant community. It is strong community partnerships such as this between key organizations like CDPHP and the YWCA to make health care services more accessible that can have a vital impact on the lives of residents in the City of Schenectady. We are thrilled to support this effort here in our community,” said Mayor Gary McCarthy.

“At the Capital Region Chamber, we know that a healthy workforce is a productive workforce, which is why we’re excited by the vision created by CDPHP and YWCA. I applaud your partnership and look forward to your continued efforts to improve the health and economic vitality of this region,” said Mark Eagan, President of the Capital Region Chamber.
